Weight distribution between the 15 grams lighter shaft and the Hybrid like head is superb so I can feel exactly where the head is at throughout the back swing and downswing. The generous flange bottom avoids fat shots. Thin shots do not lose distance because there is lot of weight at bottom of club head. I was able to fade the shots slightly, but a banana fade was impossible for me. The offset is small compared to all other game improvement irons I have observed, so these clubs are not hook machines either. A baby draw is easy to hit.
You can order these clubs with custom Lie angles, club length for no extra charge. This is important to me because I play better with 2 degree flat irons. However the HB3's have flatter Lie angles to begin with so I ordered mine with 1 deg flat. Now played half a dozen rounds, and very pleased with the results. I shoot low 80's but why should I bother with player irons which are hard on my nerves when I can hit the HB3's with eyes closed. I can leave the ego thing at home.
