First, understand that I LOVE this putter...I like the way it sets up, the alignment marks, the insert...everything.But that said, it's heavy, and I never realized that putting with it for an hour at Golf Galaxy.Only when I took it on the course did I figure this out.

I will keep it, simply because it's the best looking putter I've ever used (40 years of golf and currently a 6 handicap).I'm sure I'll acclimate to the extra weight.

I called Odyssey Golf and asked if the weights could be changed...they can't.The Black Series i7 is not changeable. The customer service rep I spoke with said he was using the same putter and trying to overcome the slightly heavy feel it had as well, so that pretty much confirms it.Again...great putter, but know that it is not a standard weight putter.

Product Description:
Inspired by Odyssey's Black Series putters, the Black Series i #7 putter--also known as the Fang putter--is ideal for golfers who demand the best in performance, precision, and craftsmanship. Black Series i putters maintain the same multi-material construction as the original Black Series putters--with a 1025 carbon steel body and a weighted tungsten flange--but now utilize a new multilayer Tour insert that provides premium feel and responsiveness.

The Black Series i #7 putter includes a multi-layer Tour insert that's incredibly responsive. The carbon steel body and tungsten flange contribute to the putter's performance by creating a low, deep center of gravity that promotes a true roll. As a result, you can feel confident whether you're stepping over a flat 10 footer or a twisting 40 footer. Odyssey also optimized the head weight to maximize consistency and distance control. It's the Tour insert inside the milled putter, however, that really stands out. The insert sports an elastomer core that enhances the feel of the putter, along with a thin, firm outer striking surface that's infused with urethane to create a fine-tuned responsiveness. When teamed with the precision-milled putter head, the club offers an optimally balanced weight, creating a smooth stroke and amazing accuracy with each putt.
The putter also employs the company's Fine-Tuned Loft System, which delivers a higher launch angle that lets you easily lift the ball from its depression on the green at an optimum trajectory. As a consequence, your putts will roll incredibly smoothly from the precise point of impact. And the modified mallet head cuts a striking profile, with weighted alignment wings and a double-bend, full-shaft offset. Other features include a 3-degree loft, a 70-degree lie, and a rich nickel-plated finish. This Odyssey Black Series i #7 putter is available with a 33-, 34-, or 35-inch shaft.

The putter's modified mallet head boasts a pair of weighted alignment wings.About Odyssey Putters
An Odyssey putter is a promise made. Odyssey designs each of its putters to help golfers to slay more demons and sink more putts. But the company also designs them to withstand any kind of punishment, and then backs them up with an Odyssey assurance of quality. Odyssey rarely sees a putter returned, but if you find a defect within a two-year period, the company will repair or replace it no questions asked. And that's a promise kept.
About Odyssey
Odyssey believes you can overcome a ton of adversity on the golf course--including nasty rough and deep sand traps--but that you live or die on the green. That's why the company has created some of the industry's most innovative putters over the years. In 1991, Odyssey released the first mallet putters molded entirely from a lightweight, soft, and resilient elastomer called Stronomic. Two years after its introduction, the Stronomic putter earned its first Tour win and quickly garnered wide acceptance among pros. By 1995, Odyssey had claimed 26 first-place victories across the six major tours, and by 1996 had claimed its first Masters win. In subsequent years, Odyssey unveiled the Tri-Force line, which offers a unique tri-sole design that squares the setup at address; the White Hot, with a patented insert that proves softer and more responsive than the Stronomic; and the White Steel, which combines a precision-milled, stainless-steel insert and an improved White Hot urethane insert to produce more precision and accuracy than ever before. In 2003, Odyssey neared a staggering 50 percent market share within the putter business, and has continued to profoundly influence the market ever since.
